Strata Tower System
A modular stacking system that yields unique user identities
Strata Tower began as an exploration in universal space within the tower paradigm. These explorations were the impetus for a single module system, and were driven by the idea to maximize visual interest within a system of modules.
A single 4x6 module yields two different floor plates. These two plates are mirrored to create two variants, which can be stacked in various ways to maximize visual interest.
Remaining in the abstract, the project is currently being developed without a site in mind, but rather as a system of modules that can be tailor-made to any site.
Though the system can yield myriad results, a randomized strategy for stacking is explored here. The Strata Tower contains floor plates that are not repeated next to one another, which ensures that every floor provides a unique experience with outdoor terraces.
The uniqueness of the floor plates and their relationship to one another bolsters the sense of place within the tower and gives an identity to each occupant.
